WAXAHACHIE loves hosting visitors not only from every part of Texas and the United States of America, but also from around the world! That’s right, international visitors have a bucket list with Waxahachie, Texas, and the legendary Ellis County Courthouse is on it. This summer will be no exception as Waxahachie welcomes global guests drawn by major sporting events and cultural celebrations.

Fans from across the globe will be converging on North
Texas for the 2026 FIFA World Cup (June 14-July 14). While
matches will be held throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth
area and Houston, many international visitors will explore
charming nearby destinations — including Waxahachie —
for dining, shopping, and Texas hospitality. Following the
World Cup excitement, the Waxahachie Sports Complex will
be home to the DFW Youth World Baseball Classic (July
31-August 3) where youth teams will play for their heritage
representing USA, Texas, Spain, Puerto Rico, Asia, Europe,
Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Italy, Australia, Africa and
more. This tournament will bring over 20 teams traveling
internationally to vie for the championship and celebrate
cultural pride through the sport of baseball.
We are also excited to be the host city of the 62nd Annual
Studebaker Drivers Club International Meet (September
23-26) with an anticipated 1,000 Studebaker owners and
enthusiasts from around the world that we will entertain with a
concert, home tour, cruise-ins, swap meet and more!
In addition to the international attention these events have
garnered, summer 2026 marks a once-in-a-lifetime milestone:
the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of
Independence.

Waxahachie – proudly known as the Crape Myrtle Capital of
Texas – will honor this moment with the 28th Annual Crape
Myrtle Festival. On July 3rd, enjoy a concert by ZZ Tex, a
tribute to ZZ Top, followed by the iconic H-E-B Fireworks
Show at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.

On July 4, the spirit of America comes alive with a hometown
parade making its way from Getzendaner Park down Main
Street to Downtown Waxahachie. This celebration of freedom,
family, and community feels like it was lifted straight from
a Norman Rockwell painting of a street lined with crape
myrtles, American flags waving, and families and neighbors
gathered on the lawns of historic homes preserved with love.
Waxahachie’s calendar of signature events offers something
for every traveler and local alike.
From around the world to right here at home, 2026 is shaping
up to be a celebration 250 years in the making — and there’s
no better place to experience it than Waxahachie.
