In previous articles, I’ve discussed the differences between brisket and tri-tip. One of our favorite meals is smoked tri-tip sliders with homemade horseradish cream sauce. My good pal and Florida native, Rosalie Bradford of Castironskillz, just launched three new rubs packed with flavor. Aptly named Crust, Coastal, and Caliente. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these and have my inaugural cook be tri-tip with Crust, and boy, it did not disappoint. The crunch, the flavor, the perfect blend of salt, pepper and garlic.
Up next to the queue, Coastal, a bright, refreshing mix of citrus, garlic and paprika with a solid base of salt and pepper. It comes with the promise of “one shake and you’re on island time.” Music to this King Tri-Tip’s ears!

Lastly, Caliente, which I am pretty sure Rosalie named after me. A “smokin’ hot” Rub with a bold, smoky flavor, it will surely be a go-to for wings and ribs. If you are anything like me, you enjoy trying new seasonings and layering them with some of your favorite classics. Please give them a go and let me know what you think! Tag and follow Meat Therapy + Castironskillz on all social media platforms. We would love to see your Coastal Crust.
